Stichic Landscapes

Stichic is a type of poetry written with a continuous sequence of lines, flowing from one to another without interruptions. Milton's Paradise Lost is an example.*

In making this current work I was interested in the spatial manipulation and symbolic language of the vertical and scroll formats of landscapes in historical Eastern art. I was curious about the idea of the Australian Aboriginal Songlines and inspired by the ambiguous acuity of Emily Dickinson’s poetry.
